A letter from Dr. Libby Trausch, PT, DPT

What's the creepy AI photo of Libby in the snowglobe have to do with anything?! (it's a good thing you can't zoom in-the eyes are very wierd).
The point of this message is to let you know that I'm still doing regular PT. Still doing my regular hands on therapy, still looking at your physical symptoms as part of your whole body. I am still your source for Mind Body Physical Therapy in Des Moines.
When people ask me what I'm doing now, I describe a snow globe with lots of different colored glitter inside and I'm tilting it to see where the piles of glitter land. I'm interested to see what you (the people) want and what you're interested in. But I'm still doing the things I've always done.
I just can't justify being inside the medical model for right now. A physical therapist is paid to DO. Do hands on therapy, do exercises, do physical retraining. A physical therapist is not paid by insurance company to say, to educate, to discuss, to explore more deeply what is going on. In MANY cases, people need and benefit greatly from this kind of PT.
I am not your gal for recovering from a surgery or rehabbing from an injury. Every outpatient PT can help you with those things.
Insurance does not cover prevention & maintenance. It doesn't pay for a new roof on your house, cleaning the windows or oil changes for your car. It doesn't pay for personal training or massage and it certainly doesn't pay physical therapists to do those things either, unfortunately. It's so frustrating.
True Mind Body Physical Therapy in Des Moines
When your symptoms are persistent and don't go away or become vastly more manageable, I AM your gal. When something pops up and you want a quick needling session to get you back on your way, I'm also your gal. When you've tried other physical therapy and you're still suffering, I'm definitely your gal.
With joy & peace,
Libby
